National Theatre of Greece Free Press
The National Theatre of Greece has embraced its mission as an open and collective theatre company through a series of actions and initiatives that literally bring the world of theatre outside the theatre building itself. One of these initiatives is the publication of a quarterly free press filled with stories and news from Greece's largest theatre company. The National Theatre of Greece Free Press is a low-budget, high-aesthetic publication that connects the world of high culture (represented by the NTG Main Stages) with the independent, lo-fi aesthetic of a younger generation of theatre-makers and -goers (as expressed by the Experimental and Youth stages). To express this energetic high-low amalgam, we followed a creative typographic approach that pushes typography to its expressive limits; at the same time, the restricted budget has led to us finding clever design solutions, like the use of just two Pantone colours per issue. The publication is distributed at all NTG venues and is picked up by visitors and patrons throughout the season. This way, this quirky but high-quality little free press helps the company's spirit and influence travel into the city and beyond.
